turret style press vs. progressive style press

Im looking to upgrade to either one of these presses for reloading 38 special,357 mag, 7.62 tok, and 223. Im leaning more towards a 4 hole turret style. I currently have a single stage press, I love it but, it took me an hour just to reload 50 rounds of 38's constantly changing out dies back and forth.

I seriously need to look into reloading. Any suggestions on what I need to start. I shoot a lot of 20 and 12 gauge, 308, 7.62X39, 223, 45ACP and 9MM.

I can see the advantages of a progressive type press.

the progressive is a excellent press for pistol and some caliber rifle like 223 and 7.62 x 39.

If your just starting out go with a Lee brand their a good product for the price. It depends on what kind of shooting and the amount of money for this hobby would you like to spend.

I know some about shot shell reloading, its a very tricky process. If a shell isnt crimped right or the wading isnt pushed down enough right the first time, you have to tear it down and start all over again.

It already has the 308 dies, you can buy additional shell holders dies etc to reload most of the calibers you want. I would buy the lee auto primer and skip the press primer, the auto primer is way better.

Powder scales either a safety scale or a electric

midway has both.

Case tumbler if you want your brass shinny.

I've owned a Texan Turret for over 35 years... good for 25acp through 10 gauge and it's all been loaded on it... couldn't pry it out of my dead fingers.

thats a good press, too bad their not made any more. Like I said for the amount of money Lee cant be beat.

Oh I know it's aged.... you're right it is a good machine and the best part is, I own a machine shop so if it needs a touch here or there, no problem! Ya know, out of countless rounds of ... wow, you name it, going through it, I've had to adjust the turret twice in all these years...
Like most things you own, if it never causes you trouble you never look for a replacement so I honestly can't tell anyone how it stacks up against others.....

About ten years ago I made a set of dies to finish off 56-56 spencer... she's the only gun I've yet to shoot.
HOLY CACA! I just listed everything I own!
Interesting... other than the 22, all i grab are the 45, 38, 222, 7mm-08, 444... and the 45-120... awesome cannon... truly awesome cannon!
Ah well, lots of dies for lots of reloading................
