It's a '63. They all used Eaton Road Rangers. Not sure what gear or engine is in it.
Re: A pic just to start off the forum.
I know road rangler transmissions... first truck I drove was a white and had a gas strait six, a five, a four, a duce and a splitter.... 80 gears to get anything up to speed..... left leg was a third larger than the right and it was like 40 turns lock to lock on the wheel... once akined it to playing a Wurlitzer...

Re: A pic just to start off the forum.
Last truck I drove was an '82 Mack with 375 hp inline 6 with turbo Maxidyne, and all the power steering my arms could muster. Heck my arms were almost as big as Hulk Hogans ... lol.
Re: A pic just to start off the forum.
END 673's were incredible engines... Mack had it right... so much so Volvo's original TID's were modeled after her. 375? Hell, back then if we had a 220 under the hood we thought we were lucky... 270 high torque came onto the scene, we thought we died and went to heaven. Then the 335's.. somewhere along the line I ended up delivering an Auto Car with a 8V-92 TA, all 425 horse of her, half way across the country, no trailer... I was in love... keep the Detroit singing and she'd pull with the best... let her idle down a little and she'd fall on her face. All in all though, the Detroits were excellent engines... most used industrial engines ever... they might sing, make noise beyond belief, destroy oil and be a nusance but they'd spin and spin and spin and spin, etc...
Those were the days! Now, I'm on the hunt for a half ton 225 slant! go figure!

Re: A pic just to start off the forum.
Guy I used to know pulled out of Alabama with a flat bed hauling steel rolls. Got a brand new Pete with a 400 something horse Cat. 18 spd Eaton Fuller Road Ranger and a pair of 4.11 gears out back. Said he got up to a 100 on a flat stretch and it felt like it still wanted to pull some more. I don't doubt him, it was a nice looking rig with dual stacks and dual air cleaners and a to die for metallic bluse metal flake paint job on it. I wished I had that one.

If it was a kitty, most likely a 3406E... yeah, they had stonk... better than the C-13 and definitely less problematic than the new C-15.... other end of the spectrum was the 3208... looked good, sounded good but... that's where the good ends...
