I've always wanted to add a Glock to the collection and when I saw a Model 22 in 40 S&W with night sites for $439 I couldn't pass it up.

The Glock 22 is a polymer framed pistol, chambered for the .40 S&W cartridge. The Glock 22 measures 7.3 inches long, 5.4 inches tall, and almost 1.2 inches wide. Weighing about 23 ounces empty, this is a rather lightweight pistol. Magazine capacityis 15 rounds. Rather than using a traditional hammer, such as the Springfield 1911 employs, the Glock 22 is hammerless with an internal striker.

Pictures to follow.

Never been a big Glock fan, but would not mind seeing a pic or two. I like a gun with a hammer and a real safety on it myself. Have you got to try it out yet ??

I haven't shot it yet so I don't have an opinion yet. However, practically all reviews I've ever read have been favorable.

I do like the 40 S&W cartridge. 9 mm is fun to shoot but IMO has problems as a home defense caliber. 45 ACP could knock down a horse but my accuracy with it is inconsistant and my wife can't pull the slide back on my Colt I find it difficult too. The 40 S&W is just right. I already have a S&W Sigma in 40 S&W that is also hammerless and I like it just fine. I just bought the Glock because I just wanted one.

I'll let you know how I like it after I put a few rounds through it.

If you want a .45 that's really easy on ya, try out a PT945 Taurus. I have one of those and I love it. It's light, not very hard to pull back the slide and very accurate. No grip safety to deal with either. I never liked them on a Colt or any other 1911A look a like. That being said, Taurus has a 1911A with that grip safety that I really like and might get one some day. It seems to really fit my hand well. Most Taurus weapons fit my hand better than others, that's one reason I like them. You should know, if it does not fit the hand well, it will never be that accurate for the shooter and the shooter will have to work at his tech. to get a good shot off.

And I totally understand that "I just wanted one" thing. Been there before too.

A friend of mine just bought a Desert Eagle box set. Nice aluminum case with .50, .44mag, and .357 mag. I got to shoot both the .50 and .44 last weekend. Not as bad a kick with either as you might think. Did not shoot the .357 cause you have to change the bolt out and it takes a little work to do that. Just a barrel and mag change from .50 to .44. Less than 2 min. Total cost, before taxes 3 grand. We may take it out to shoot Sat. evening and if we do, I'll try to get some pics of it.

Thanks for the info. I will look into that. My wife and I have a couple of Taurus revolvers and find them to be excellant handguns at reasonable prices.

Welcome, anytime. I also have a .357 magnum from Taurus. 6" barrel in stainless. It has a little muzzle flip to it that I don't like and it's kinda heavy compared to other guns I have. It does have a grip that fits my hand real well though and I like it a lot. I think the .357 is a 649 by Taurus. Lets see if I have a pic of both.

Nice gun. Not much of a Glock man myself, but I guess they get the job done. Very Happy
