I know what you mean. It's just no the same as it used to be. I bet they lost a lot of old time hard core fans with the cot. I also hated that they changed the banking on Bristol making it three grooves. Ruined that bumper to bumper racing. Heck that's what made it good was the fight for the pass. The only track with a real fight for a pass.

I will probably watch. Last race I saw much of was indy an I turned it off about the forth heat race. Might have watched more after hunting season if it hard been close for the title.

Re: Daytone 500
I was an avid fan in the 70s, 80s into the mid 90s. I was a NASCAR member and raced Street Stocks at a NASCAR sanctioned track from 1984 to 1996 in CA.
I still go to at least one race a year. This years its Bristol in March.

Re: Daytone 500
I started out doing a little drag racing and went to dirt and now I am running NASCAR G.N. Sportsman div. at a local track. They managed to save the track for one more year, but they have been trying to get rid of it for some time now. I hope they fail. That track is a little over 100 years old and many great came up on it and other greats had great success in the past on it too.
