I bet yours tended to tick a little instead or racking off like that one, huh? lol. IT sure does sound sweet in that old asphalt modified racer.

I got a 71 Swinger off of one of my older brothers for a hundred bucks while I was in college. The viny top was ripped up, had rust in the quarters and interior was kind of ratty, but for a hundred bucks, I thought what the heck. He told me it had a burnt valve and needed a valve job because he couldn't get it to idle. I got to checking it out and discovered the carb needed a rebuild. Fifteen dollar kit and I was riding in style. LOL His wife told me she wanted the car back and I told her five hundred bucks would get it. She declined. I ripped off the vinyl top, sanded it, primed it and painted it black with spray paint. It lasted me thru college.

Good deal. It's hard to kill a slant or an old A body. Cripple them a bit, maybe but not kill them.
