General NASCAR Question
A member on Traxxas R/C Owner's Forum was asking the below question.
Does anybody here remember that happening? Dad's pretty sure it was Cale Yarborough, but isn't absolutely positive.
Thanks!

I remember hearing about a nascar racer/crew who blew an engine, changed the engine and came back to win the race. Should be 60's/70's time frame. Does anybody have any information?
I have looked but yet have to find info.
Thanks
Kenny.

Re: General NASCAR Question
That used to happen a lot back then. Not sure if anyone came back to win a race though. It usually took them an hour or so to change them. He'd have to have one hell of a lead to do that.
Re: General NASCAR Question
I don't remember an engine change and a when, but I remember Benny Parsons rebuilding the right side of his car and winning his only championships in the '70's. He was leading and coming off two some back marker spun out Parsons hit and took out the entire right side, roll cage and all. They found an old car in the garage area and cut it up to fix his. They never did find out who the car belonged to that they cut up.
