I have a '76 Plymouth Road Runner. It's Spitfire Orange with a 230 hp V8 and an A904 tranny with floor shift. IT also has an 8 1/4 rear axle with 2.94:1 gears. This car is all original with about 65,000 miles on it. Even has the original spare with the dealerships name printed on the reverse side of it.

Hey David, I actually got on. I like the pics of your Roadrunner. That is a sweet car. I have a brother who had a 77 Aspen R/T that he bought new in 1976. I flew to Michigan with him to get it and we drove it home that night. Ran the hell out of it and when he sold it, it was still running strong. He was a drinker back then and the body was beat all to crap on it, but still had the original engine and automatic tranny and neither one had ever been touched. It did have some rust in the rockers and quarter panels, but I think this was typical for a negelected one of that particular body style. Later, Charlie

Thanks. That one stays in the dark as much as possible. That color paint tends to fade pinkish if not taken care of. Very Happy

If you keep it washed and waxed, would it fade so badly? I've seen some of the older red Mopars and I know what you mean. It's not a Mary Kay car Laughing , so you definitely want to keep it red.

Wash and wax wont really matter. The heat just beats the pigments in the color and it fades out. Matter of fact, the sun has killed the special order factory candy apple red metallic clear coat on my Intrepid. It sits outside all the time and it just faded out and took a good beating from the sun. Mad
